Meet Francisco Javier Milian, CPP®
U.S. Army combat veteran, certified security professional (CPP), and founder of The Educated Risk Company.
Wounded in action during his military service, Francisco learned firsthand what it means to make high-stakes decisions under pressure, where clarity, judgment, and courage are not optional. They are the only way forward. That experience forged a deep understanding of risk, responsibility, and the weight that follows every consequential choice.
Years later, surviving cancer sharpened that understanding again, this time through the lens of resilience, gratitude, and the urgency of using your time and platform well.
After transitioning to civilian life, Francisco brought those lessons into the professional world. He worked in insurance technology during periods of rapid growth and uncertainty, where fast decisions with incomplete information were the norm. Later, in the public sector, he supported large-scale systems and helped organizations navigate complexity, witnessing firsthand how unclear thinking clouds judgment and how desperately leaders need structure when everything around them feels complicated. Today, he works daily at the intersection of risk and responsibility in the security field.
All of that led to The Educated Risk Company.
